Summer 2025 Cognashene Cottagers Recreation Program

For decades, the Cognashene Summer Recreation program has been providing opportunities for the younger members of our community to build friendships and develop a love and respect for our small part of Georgian Bay. Program activities are offered for children from ages 2-13 and volunteer and employment opportunities are available for young people aged 14 and up. Most activities are held on Arthur Island but some activities may be held at other local locations.

We are pleased to announce that the Cognashene Cottagers Recreation Program will be running a full summer program for 2025. 

We have a dynamic group of young leaders who have grown up in our community and are eager to work and volunteer in the Recreation Program. Please be sure to visit our visit the Rec Program website for specific information about the program, schedules, calendars, and staff. During the summer months the website will also serve as a tool to communicate any changes in programs due to weather (in addition to social media channels). We suggest bookmarking this page!

- Return of the Junior Canoe Trip (age 7 – 9 years)

- Sailing Program – running on Tuesday afternoons at Arthur Beach for our senior campers. This is an opt-in program with additional fees attached. Please see our Rates and Fees guide.

Swimming lessons will be offered through the Lifesaving Society of Canada.

Bronze levels will be offered if there is sufficient demand for the courses. Campers will be required to attend a minimum of 6 weeks in the program (including the exam week) to be eligible to participate in the exam.
