The Cognashene Cottager

The Cognashene Cottager, first published in 1949, is the annual yearbook of the Cognashene Cottagers' Association. The contents, contributed by members, have followed a pattern since the book's inception. All issues contain annual reports from CCA Directors including, notably: Municipal affairs; Recreation programme; Environmental conditions & water levels; Regatta results; Church news; and financial statements. The principal feature of this now 165 page booklet is articles of special events, nostalgia, family affairs, experiences - and poetry. These writings capture the mood of this water bound, island community, and reveal how Cognasheners feel about their vacation Valhalla. Visual images abound, the work of local artists, plus photography by amateurs and professionals. Member names and addresses and a calendar of highlight events also appear. The yearbook's break even objective is achieved through advertising by marine related businesses. Advertisers may contact cottager@cognashene.com for information on how to advertise in the Cottager.
